MAGNETICS - Numbers & Letters

Magnetic race numbers and class letters are most often used for autocrossing and track event when your "race" car may also be your "street" car.  These items can be produced in two ways:  individual, cut-to-shape characters, or 1 piece magnetic panels (circles, rectangles, etc.) with vinyl lettering applied.

Individual, cut-to-shape magnetics are the most popular due to their versatility.  In Solo II racing, multiple numbers are used for multiple drivers of the same car, or in larger classes, when a particular number may not be available.  Some folks order a pair of each digit, 0-9.  A less expensive way to start is with 2 pairs of digits.  This gives you 4 choices when you register.  Example:  a pair of 1's and a pair of 2's lets you run as #1, #2, #12, or #21.  When there is a 2nd driver, an extra pair of 1's is often used.  SCCA's minimum number height is 8" but larger sizes are available.  Any combination of class letters can be used, then easily changed when classes change.  The best size for letters is usually 1/2 the number height, with 4" being most common.  Check out our Number and Letter Styles for available styles for magnetics.

Panels are available as circles, ovals, squares, and rectangles, and can incorporate 1,2, or 3 digits, and the class letters, if needed.  They allow for an easy 1 piece application to the car, but they're best used for permanent numbers and classes, since changes are not as easy as with individual characters.  Sizing is more of an issue with panels, since the quantity and size of the numbers and letters will affect the overall size of the panel.  We can help design the best size for your particular application.  Check out our Panel Styles for available styles.

VINYL - Numbers & Letter / Custom Graphics

Vinyl race numbers and class letters are available in all the same styles as the magnetics and are used for full-time race cars.  REUSABLE adhesive vinyl is used for non-steel-bodied cars, that see part-time autocross or track-day duty.  Beyond the scope of race numbers, class lettering, and standard vinyl lettering, is the area of custom vinyl graphic designs and team or sponsor logos for race cars, trailers, tow vehicles, etc.  These graphics can range from simple and subtle, to complex and wild.  We have lots of "streaming checkers" types of designs that can be adapted to your particular size, shape, and color choices, or we can produce your design or logo from your supplied .eps or .ai file, (or scan from your camera ready art.)
